Welcome to The Red House Country Hotel

Built in 1891 for a Manchester architect, Reginald H Holman, The Red House Country Hotel has a unique character and homely atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone age, making it one of the leading hotels in the Peak District. Situated in Matlock, Derbyshire, the hotel is an ideal base for those wishing to explore the idyllic and stunning Peak District and its National Park. In an excellent location with picturesque views overlooking the Derwent Valley, you can be assured of a pleasant, relaxing and enjoyable time at this family owned hotel.

The hotel has 9 individually decorated rooms, beautiful lawned gardens and a first-class restaurant. We pride ourselves on our high standards of service and hospitality attending to your every need, which is why our guests stay with us time after time. All guests arriving in the afternoon are offered complimentary afternoon tea with home made cake or biscuits. To allow us to service the bedrooms from the night before, we should be grateful if all guests check in after 2 pm.

With our elegant rooms, delightful setting and ample free parking, the hotel is suited for short breaks to Derbyshire and the Peak District, business meetings and special occasions such as wedding anniversaries.
